English 323: Scriptwriting teaches students the ins and outs of script writing. Using the book Save the Cat students craft the beginning of a film script during the semester.

Students spend the entire semester crafting a script and learning the art of scriptwriting. We analyzed movie scenes and the scripts to see a script go to the screen. We learned a method of writing where you lay out flashcards to organize your thoughts. We also learned the three act structure and how it is used in almost every film you will watch.

I took English 323 my fall semester of Junior year and was instructed by Brady Bergeson. I wrote a script called "Teacher of the Century" that went on to win first place in the drama category of the NDSU W-challenge.
